Artist's Comments

Rar! After weeks of twiddling with settings, futzing around for tutorials, and in general beating my head against any available surface, I HAVE DONE IT!! A computer-colored upgrade to a lineart pic I did last night, and I am happy, yes I am. Unfortunately, I'm working only with ArcSoft PhotoStudio 5.5, which is basically Photoshop Lite. Same graphics-twiddling power, half the options. So it doesn't look quite as good as it should, but at least it doesn't suck. And for that, I am happy.

So...

By the power of ArcSoft.... I have TEH COLOR!!!!

Oh, and if you can guess which Sonic artist I took the reference picture from, you get a cookie.

Excludeing the back ground, it has a very oekaki board feel (wich alot of oekaki and other paint boards are practicly Photoshop Lite in set up).

This is not a bad thing. Oekai has it's own charm and often reminds me of old vidio games, which I still find alot of the art for charming. And the shadeing is well doe if grainy which is probaly due to the type of file it's saved as.

Not sure if I like the background but the composition has a nice designer feel t it and the character design is well done. In fact I rather like it. ^_^

I don't know the Sonic artist for sure... but might it be good old Spaz who use to do much of the Sonic comic book covers? Because the design reminds me of the skunk Gofery (I hope I got his name right, probly did not) who was Spaz's baby.

Thanks for the commentary, Ryu. ^.^

As for the background, I had to do *something,* and, still learning the graphics program, had to go with good old-fashined texture-fill. And trust me, that fire graphic was definitely the lesser of fifty-something evils. It also matched the character history fairly well, but I doubt I'll ever be satisfied with a tiled fire-texture.

And no, the artist was not Spaz (though I admit he was the first artist of the comic I was actually impressed with, so it may have leaked over) You do not get a cookie. ^.^

But, thanks for playing!

Hmm...I know not of the artist from which you acquired the reference, but I still think that it looks very cool; keep up the good work.

All that has ever been created was done so for a reason, even if that reason is just for it to be.
